Diplomat's Son-Vampire Weekend

Here's looking at you, kid.

I was already a big fan of dark, dark lip wear (and when I say "dark" I am indeed referring to a certain number of black shades I wore this past winter) And I was super excited when summer came, and yet still I found this urge to have dark lips. It's a breath of fresh air away from those obvious choices of pinks, corals, and nudes. (Don't get me wrong, I still love a good nude)The great thing about this look is the versatility; some of my favorites are purple, berry, and brick red. 2010's wine lips are very reminiscent of the 90s grunge period, yet are pure elegance in every sense. Besides, there's something really sexy about painting your pout a deep, rich shade just as the temperatures begin to rise.

Welcome home, Stanley.

All I have to say is, I believed in the beard. Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks for their first Stanley Cup win since 1961. They were able to snatch their 1st away win and 4th needed win during Game 6 in the Finals. Chicago, this is your night! And way to go boys, you sure made us proud.

Well, it's finally here: The 2010 Lollapalooza lineup has been announced, although rumors for the three headliners (Green Day, Lady Gaga, and Soundgarden) had been circulating the internet for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, I wasn't as thrilled about the band choices as I have been in the years past, partially due to the fact that I tend to be more partial to the smaller sets that play earlier in the afternoon. I would, however like to give a shout out to Perry and the gang for filling the other three slots with The Strokes, Arcade Fire, and Phoenix, who are guaranteed to put on a good show.

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will bring a youth movement to the low desert this year. After several years of graybeard headliners, California’s signature festival is going back to the future with younger acts including Gorillaz, Muse, Jay-Z, Thom Yorke, MGMT, Hot Chip, Spoon, Vampire Weekend and LCD Soundsystem at the very top of the bill for the three-day concert that begins April 16 at the Empire Polo Field in Indio.

There are some flashback acts, including Woodstock icon Sly Stone and the Family Stone, 1980s alt-rock group Echo and the Bunnymen and reconstituted college-rock outfit Pavement, but they're not leading the bill as Paul McCartney, Prince and Roger Waters did in past years.

Although you can't beat Lollapalooza's stunning Chicago backdrop, I have to say that this year, the win goes to Coachella.

There is something incredibly sexy about Christoph Waltz. Maybe it's his impeccable acting.
Maybe it's his lovely Austrian accent. I guess it should bother me that he's old enough to be my father. It doesn't. I guess it should also bother me that I'm still attracted to him as a Nazi. Yeah, that does, but just a little.

This post is going to get straight to the point: I miss Chicago so hard right now. It's just one of those moments when I find myself laying in bed in LA, 1739.76 miles away from home. Real, real home. Chicago, my beautiful, most wonderful city in the world, I can't wait to see you in 3 weeks :)
